I get up a bit earlier than normal most mornings and have some time by myself on the couch with a cup of tea. My pattern varies, but currently I listen to a worship song, then I listen to/read a passage from the Bible (I"m reading through Acts at the moment), and ask God to speak to me. Then I spend some time thanking God, praying for myself (struggles, challenges), then praying for others who are struggling around me. I depend on those special times.

I find myself praying at small stages throughout the day, because my prayers are mostly like a conversation with God. Praying doesn't necessarily mean closing your eyes and putting your hands together. God is always listening so just say what's on your heart. Making time to listen is important too, that's where reading your bible or your daily reading notes comes in, or even sometimes sharing with someone else that you trust, either a friend or perhaps a youth leader. God sometimes talks through other people.

I tend to pray little and often throughout the day, and as a result I find it difficult to sit down and give time to just pray. Having said that, starting each day with prayer is always a good way to start the day and I notice when I haven't. When I sit down to pray, I like to pray with someone. I find it is helpful in thinking what to pray and it is those times where I have felt most blessed by God.
